"Chris Kan and the team at Arbutus Point Dental far exceeded my expectations.

I had been putting off having dental work for many years as I was terrified of going to the dentist.    I got so stressed out about it that I would get an instant migraine whenever I went!

I was also attempting to re-enamelize my teeth through diet and wanted to find a dentist who was open to what I was doing and would be accepting of my more holistic view on life and dentistry. I searched most of the lower mainland for a dentist I could resonate with, until I found Chris Kan.

On calling the office to ask my list of questions, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist (Natalie) who instantly helped put me at ease whilst happily taking the time to answer my concerns.   I had many questions and Dr Kan personally answered the ones Natalie couldn't via email in a kind and genuine manner.    I am sure my list of questions would have been bothersome to most dentists, supported by the fact that many simply did not respond to my emails.   Having this contact directly with Dr Kan prior to our appointment definitely made me feel more comfortable.

On meeting Dr Kan I instantly felt more at ease from his beaming smile and eagerness to meet my own personal needs.   He was very professional and did a thorough exam of my teeth, using both digital xrays and a camera to show me the areas of concern.    He practices minimally invasive dentistry, which means he only does the work that really needs to be done.    He does not just fill a tooth because it has a stain or lack of enamel.    Dr Kan also uses air abrasion for much of his work, meaning he can often fill smaller cavities without the need for a drill, which is much better for our teeth.

I had a series of fillings with Dr Kan and I found his work to be thorough and meticulous. He really takes his time and the appointments were twice as long as they would have been with another dentist because he works so carefully and allows time for questions. (The air abrasion also takes longer).

In addition to being a great dentist Dr Kan actually went out of his way to courier in a particular fluoride-free composite material that I mentioned I would prefer for my fillings on an Easter Monday! This was above and beyond all my expectations. He does his very best to meet all his patient's needs, truly treating everyone as an individual. He knows his patients by name and will always check in to see how you are doing if he sees you around the office (as will the other staff). I appreciated the follow up email after all my work was completed and found the cost to be very reasonable for the exceptional service provided. I have gone from being terrified of going to the dentist to actually enjoying the experience - truly incredible!

In addition, I am also very impressed with Dana, the bubbly, friendly hygienist who completed the most thorough hygiene appointment I have ever had, removing most of the stains from my teeth and giving me good tooth care advice."

"He is the best dentist I have ever visited. I had some bad and so so dentists in the past, and Dr. Kan is definitely at the top. His work is meticulous and ofhifh quality- he always takes the time for the details. I am anxious about going to the dentist (having stuff in frozen mouth and choking is a big fear) but Dr. Kan makes it less scary. If he could avoid a needle and freezing, he always does with me. He always asks if I have any questions and explains next steps which helps reduce my anxiety. He is very knowledgeable and looks out for the patient first.
